Deborah Malka MD, PhD has been board-certified in Integrative Holistic Medicine and has focused on patient empowerment and alternative medicine throughout her career. She is foremost a healer, specializing in natural therapies, offering clients guidance in finding their unique pathways to wellness, wholeness, rejuvenation and health. Her consultations bring a wide range of perspectives and intuitive knowledge. Her expertise in herbal medicine provides a unique and valuable understanding of medical cannabis, which has been her most recent specialization .
Prior to clinical practice, Dr. Malka completed her PhD in Human Genetics from Columbia University, and studied both natural and traditional medicine, with degrees from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and the Santa Fe College of Natural Medicine. She then practiced as a primary care physician, directing a holistic medical clinic in Aptos, California. For the past 15 years she has specialized in cannabis medical consulting serving over 30,000 patients to date. Her private practice, CannabisPlus had offices in Santa Cruz and Monterey, on the central coast of California.
She moved from California to New Mexico in 2018 to become the steward of a rare wilderness property in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains between Santa Fe and Taos New Mexico. The property has private access to a river, has a free-flowing pond and is at the gateway to the national forest providing many opportunities for solitude, movement and reflection. She currently provides private cannabis medical consultations and natural health guidance for clients from her home office in New Mexico, both in-person, by phone or via telemedicine. Her healing practice has recently expanded to offer personal sanctuary retreats with the option of personalized health guidance and therapy.
